Stage 1
- From the pack of cards, select the Ace of Hearts, the Queen of Hearts, the King of Hearts, plus two other crowned heads with clearly visible arms and hands.

Step 2
- Use a fine brush to coat the centre of the ace of hearts with gilding paste. Leave to dry for around ten minutes.

Step 3
- Place the gold leaf on the ace of hearts and gently rub with the brush to ensure that the leaf adheres to the voiding and the excess gold is removed.

Step 4
- Cut out the outline of the golden heart and a left and right arm from the 2 extra cards.

Step 5
- Glue the arms of the queen and king together, orienting them so that they have the heart in the centre.

Step 6
- Cut out 3 small pieces of foam adhesive and stick each one to the back of the cards and the heart. Don't hesitate to superimpose layers of foam adhesive for extra volume. Here there are 3 layers under the king and queen and 1 layer under the heart.

Step 5
- Assemble the cards and the heart in the black cover, like an entomology frame or an ex-voto.

Tip
I thought the characters on my cards were a bit sad, so I gave them a smile using red and black markers!
