Atmospheric colours

The sky, in the broadest sense, seems to be imposing its prism of nuances in 2026: Pantone® has propelled us into the clouds with a white-grey shade called "Cloud dancer", voted colour of the year.

Similarly, Pinterest predicts that intergalactic patterns and colours, as well as the glacier blue of snowy peaks, will be all the rage. So don't hesitate to think of your creations in shades of white, pale pink, Nordic blue... and even holographic gradients in pastel tones.

I'm going for it!

Bring joy to a rainy day by personalising a simple trench coat with clouds cut out of holographic iron-on:

  • By hand or using a Cricut digital cutting machine, cut out cloud shapes from the holographic fusible paper.
  • Apply each cloud to a cotton trench coat using an iron, following the manufacturer's instructions carefully.
  • You can have fun adding embroidered details linked to the clouds: raindrops, sun, moons, stars or constellations, proverbs such as "after the rain comes the good weather"...

It's in!

To complement these intangible colours, choose soft, fluffy, light, translucent materials... Soft touch", the soft-touch lamination used on the covers of our books or notebooks, is the perfect illustration.

Back to the wild!

If 2025 saw the big comeback of the leopard, 2026 will be the year of all animal motifs! However, we're particularly keen on animals with a gentle, almost fairytale look: fawn spots, butterfly wings, peacock feathers... Textiles feature motifs of fur, scales, feathers... Objects, decorations and furniture are inspired by nature, the forest, the earth...

I'm going for it!

Create jewellery inspired by insects.

Use the resin inclusion to create pendants from a naturalised beetle or a butterfly wing found on the ground. Of course, don't use live insects for these creations!

Find out how to use resin to create jewellery in our tutorial.

Art Deco revival

The Art Deco aesthetic appealed to the younger generation. Geometric patterns inspired by nature, arches, chevrons, fans... combined with noble materials such as wood, brass, mother-of-pearl, chrome... all crafted with exceptional expertise! Art Deco honours the craftsmen and designers who make everyday objects sublime.

I'm going for it!

Turn a simple mirror into an Art Deco mirror by adding embossed metal decoration:

  • Start with a simple rectangle mirror with no frame.
  • Take the template and design a trim/frame using Art Deco motifs. This design will serve as your pattern.
  • Transfer your pattern onto one or more sheets of gold embossing foil.
  • Work the hollows and relief of the metal with a used pencil, stylus, stump... as you wish.
  • Glue the embossed metal frame to the mirror.

Making lace

Since cloudy white is THE trend colour, let's break up its monotony by giving it a lacy treatment! Bobbin lace, needle lace, Irish guipure, crochet, macramé, ladder days, trompe l'oeil embroidery... Various thread art techniques allow you to play with the codes of lace without necessarily applying the know-how to the letter.

I'm going for it!

Make a pretty lace cup:

  • Flatten a ball of self-hardening clay to create a slab a few millimetres thick.
  • Place a lace on the baking sheet and run a rolling pin over it to "print" the lace pattern on the sheet.
  • Gently remove the lace, rinse it and reuse it as you wish.
  • Carefully shape your plate into a cup shape by moulding it inside an existing cup covered in plastic film.
  • Leave to dry.

Afrohemian

This trend, highlighted by Pinterest Predict 2026, is a mix of African style and bohemian chic. Wax fabrics and Berber weavings are combined with rattan, woven baskets and other decorative objects made from natural fibres.

I'm going for it!

Create a wall decoration using woven straw or bamboo bowls, daubed with acrylic paint and inspired by wax fabric patterns:

  • Draw geometric patterns inspired by wax fabrics on each dish.
  • Paint these designs with acrylic paint in the bright colours of wax, while keeping some of the natural fibre cups.
  • Hang this collection of bowls on your living room wall.

Well pinned!

This year, brooches, pins, clips and badges continue to be a big hit - quite the contrary! Accumulate on pockets, jackets, shoes, socks, ties, hats and handbags.... To the point of almost completely covering their cling fabric!

I'm going for it!

Have fun giving a simple, drab lampshade a makeover by pinning on your entire collection of vintage pins, patches and brooches! From now on, this new lamp will provide more ambient lighting than real illumination, but it will become a collector's item in your decor!

Making your own perfume

Whether it's a body fragrance or a home fragrance, personalisation is in. Mix your own essences and fragrances for a signature scent all your own!

I'm going for it!

Here's a recipe for making a pillow mist to soothe you to sleep.

Mix the following ingredients in an opaque glass spray bottle:

  • 100 ml chamomile floral water
  • 2 tablespoons orange blossom
  • 5 drops of lavender essential oil

Shake the bottle before each use. Spray 30cm from the pillow ten minutes before going to bed. The use of essential oils is contraindicated in certain cases, such as for pregnant women. Be sure to check these contraindications before use. You can create other variations of this mist with rosewater and vanilla or verbena and mandarin, depending on which scent is most comforting for you.

Trendy

From Asia, the Layering trend is also making its way into perfumery. This involves layering several scented cosmetic products on the body: shower gel, cream, deodorant, perfume, studying their combination and the unique fragrance that these layers create.

Circus mania

A striped big top, a red velvet curtain, a star-studded ring, an XXL balloon... The fantasy of the circus is invading our everyday decor to give it a more theatrical feel! Have fun with daring decorative elements like replacing an armchair with a swing, fixing an upside-down lamp to the ceiling instead of a chandelier... Play with circus and theatre colour codes: red and white stripes, dark red velvet, gold stars.... Counterbalance these patterns and bright colours with soft shades: pastel pink, link green, coloured greys...

I'm going for it!

Has your round coffee table lost its charm? Give it a new lease of life by repainting its round, marquee-style tray with concentric red and white stripes.

Decorative tip: give a revolving hanger a makeover in the same way. Place it in the centre of your coffee table and your aperitif with friends will be like a wheel of fortune!

It's candy!

Tart colours and gelatinous materials come together in the "Gummy" trend, inspired by the famous chewing gum that floods the candy and health food aisles. Resin, latex, gelatine and plastic can be coloured to create jewellery, key rings, gri-gris, phone covers... just like sweets.

I'm going for it!

Fall back into childhood by making bracelets with multiple beads inspired by the world of sweets, simply mounted on elastic. It's the accumulation that counts!

Beautiful pen

As we saw last year, the art of letter writing is back in the limelight. Mail art, writing courses, Haiku and other poems, diaries.... are on the page! This revival of writing is accompanied by a renewed interest in beautiful stationery: notebooks, cards, pens and beautiful bindings all contribute to the pleasure of writing.
