At Créations & savoir-faire, we celebrate creativity in all its forms... and sometimes it can even take on a competitive edge! One of the most eagerly awaited events at the show is the French Knitting Speed Championship, in partnership with KATIA and Modes & Travaux, which attracts the attention and sharp needles of the fastest knitters every year.

Legends of yarn and knitwear

In 2025, Catherine brilliantly won the competition, regaining her title of French knitting speed champion with a performance of 249 stitches in 3 minutes.

She was closely followed by Isabelle, who made 241 stitches, and Claudine, who completed the podium with 214 stitches.

But who will dare challenge the all-time record of 267 stitches in 3 minutes, set a few years ago by Catherine, the undisputed champion of knitting speed?

Join us from 18 to 22 November 2026 to take up the challenge at the 30th edition of Créations & savoir-faire.

What is Speed Knitting?

Speed Knitting celebrates the dexterity, speed and precision of knitters. The principle is simple: participants have a set amount of time to complete as many stitches as possible, with perfect regularity.

But don't be fooled by fast knitting! Between tensioning the wire, managing the rhythm and coordinating the hands, the slightest hesitation can cost you victory. It's a real test of concentration and technical mastery, where every move counts.

Behind the championship, it's also a moment of conviviality and good humour, where we celebrate the pleasure of creating together. Speed Knitting is the art of knitting at top speed... without ever losing your smile!
