Explanations:
- Start by making the 25 mini clothes pegs with the numbers of the calendar squares. To do this, glue the cut-out numbers to the coloured paper circles and then to the clothes peg using strong glue.

- Following the diagram opposite, make 25 small granny square squares using the 5 colours of yarn. For example, you could start by crocheting 5 round 1s in each colour, then 5 round 2s (from each ball), alternating colours, and finish with 5 round 3s in each colour, taking care not to use the same colour twice in a square. For each square created, the metallised wire was used on one of the towers. It is crocheted at the same time as the selected cotton yarn.

- To crochet a granny square :
Tr: tower
br : flange
mc: cast mesh
ml: chain stitch
Tr 1: with colour A, make in a magic ring : 5 ml, and repeat *3 br, 2 ml* 3 times, 2 br and close the tr with 1 mc. Pull the wire from the magic ring to close the hole and tuck the wires in.
Tr 2: colour B: make 5 ml, 3 br, 1 ml in one of the arches from the previous tr, and repeat. *3 br, 2 ml, 3 br, 1 ml in the next hoop* 3 times, 2 br in the 1st hoop and close the tr by 1 mc. Tuck in the wires.
Tr 3: colour C: make 5 ml, 3 br, 1 ml in one of the arches at an angle to the previous tr and repeat. *3 br, 1 ml in the next hoop, 3 br, 2 ml, 3 br in the next hoop, 1 ml* 3 times, 3 br, 1 ml in the next hoop, 2 br in the 1st hoop and close the tr with 1 mc. Tuck in the wires.
In the same colour, you can crochet a mc tr in each strand and hoop of the previous tr to create a pretty finish to your granny.
- When your 25 granny squares are crocheted, arrange them in a square as you wish.

- And assemble them in columns only.

- Overlay the 2 rectangles of fabric and the fleece and sew 1cm from the edge, leaving an opening to turn the rectangle inside out. Trim the corners, cut off the excess fabric and turn your rectangle right side out; the fleece should be on the inside. Using a needle and sewing thread, close the opening with an invisible stitch.
- Place the 25 granny square on the fleece rectangle, leaving a little more fabric at the top.

- Start by attaching the grannies to the fabric by machine stitching along the column assembly (don't forget the sides). Then sew a line at the bottom of each granny square. The top of each granny square must remain open in order to use the square.
- You now have your 25 little granny square squares.

- Pinch each clothes peg to a square on your calendar and fill it with treats and/or little surprises!

- To hang it, you can fold the top of your calendar back 1.5-2cm and secure it with a few invisible stitches. Pass a wooden stick or a large knitting needle through the inside and attach the ends of a long thread to each side.
